AB  - The Communication Studies Unit of the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology is to help the L, M. Ericsson Company, Stockholm to develop a ‘control‐led’ form of English, using a limited vocabulary and a limited range of sentence structures, for use in Ericsson's international documentation. The new language will be an adaptation of ISLAM—the international language for service and maintenance originated by the Caterpillar Tractor Company.
