Abstract
As librarians begin to contemplate a fundraising program for their institution, they first must determine whether or not they are positioned correctly to undertake such an effort. Do they have all the key elements in place? Are there needs to be met? Do the library's users understand these needs? Are the board and staff committed to the leadership effort that such a campaign requires? This is where a fundraising assessment comes into the picture.
