Abstract

Consultants can be a welcome sight to beleaguered libraries seeking an outside expert opinion in matters from management to construction. However, it is the wise library staff that exercises discrimination about when to use the services of a consultant and how to select the right consultant for the job. Fundraising is an area where consultants can perform a vital service for the library with limited experience, staff, and resources.
