Abstract

As anyone who has ever had to clear up an OCR'd page of text will tell you, one of OCR's drawbacks is the cost of correcting character recognition errors. There are ways and means of working around this: one is not to bother at all, but instead to store the uncorrected OCR output together with image files of the original pages.
