ADOBE ACROBAT AND THREE RIVALS

Abstract

Pages created for print can simultaneously become electronic publications by means of a recently introduced kind of software. It is on Adobe Acrobat that this update will concentrate since it has just (September 1994) been released in Version 2.0, with some important differences and additions to last year's launch version. We shall place Acrobat in context, however, by referring to three rival systems — Common Ground, Envoy and Replica — of which there is also recent news.
