Change in the Education Service — Training for Elected Members

Abstract

The centralised and political pressures on what has traditionally been a local government service are forcing changes, and the relationship between member and officer is also altering. Professor Stewart's article “In Search of the Management of Education” is described as the basis for seminars involving both members and officers concentrating on the major issues of policy determination and management for change.
