Abstract

While approaching the theoretical value of conspectus‐based cooperative collection management, I'll address the issues as they relate to resource sharing in general. I'll repeat a number of themes from a number of perspectives so that you may have the opportunity to reflect on these issues, and I'll outline for you some of my personal philosophy on the subject, which I refer to as “the networking imperative.” The intent is to issue a call to action, rather than describe the processes associated with cooperative collection management or collection assessment.
