AB  - The last 20 years have seen the laying of the foundations of acceptance of anti‐corrosion alongside other practical applicational methods. Many materials and techniques have been introduced in this period; indeed, it can be said that the anti‐corrosion industry (if such a term is acceptable) is a post‐war development. If anti‐corrosion is to follow the historical pattern of similar fields we can expect rapid consolidation over the next 20 years. Following this reasoning an attempt can be made to look into the future and forecast the trends.
