Last month the Fulmer Research Institute at Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, had its ‘open day’. At the same time the Institute is celebrating 15 years of activity mainly in the fields of metallurgy, physical and inorganic chemistry, and solid‐state physics. Although long‐term research accounts for most of the expenditure, greater emphasis is being placed upon overcoming production problems. The main building, which includes the corrosion analysis section, together with the many out‐buildings, blends well with the rural scene.
