AB  - Dr. Vernon receives the Whitney award. Before leaving America to attend the symposium of the Corrosion Group of the Society of Chemical Industry, held in London from March 30 to April 1, F. L. La Que, vice‐president and manager of the Development and Research Division of the International Nickel Co. Inc., was charged with the special task of conveying this year's Whitney Award to Dr. W. H. J. Vernon, O.B.E. Dr. Vernon recently retired from his post as head of the corrosion section of the Chemical Research Laboratory of the D.S.I.R., Teddington.
