Abstract

Polytetrafluoroethylene is processed from the raw polymer, known in the U.S. as Teflon and in this country as Fluon, into a translucent or white plastic possessing excellent chemical and physical properties; it is chemically inert and will resist the action of solvents and other chemicals with the exception of fluorine and molten alkali metals.
