It would, therefore, seem reasonable for the various bodies who are likely to employ this form of protection to get together and make known their activities so that the possibility or probability of damage in some cases can be assessed and prevented. A committee has, in fact, been formed for the purpose of co‐ordinating the application of cathodic protection of buried structures, and information has already been received on some 200 installations either in operation or projected. Installations by impressed current or reactive anodes are in use on water, gas, oil and sewage pipes, telephone and electricity cables and structures such as oil tanks and jetties.
