Abstract
Programmable calculators are now used even in companies where there is access to either a bureau or an in‐house computer. This article explains why this should be — savings in time, money, and greater accuracy, as well as relieving the staff of many repetitive jobs. Examples of specific areas where the programmable computer has been of value are: better use of storage space, better production forecasting, distribution performance and look‐up tables.
