AB  - IN HIS LETTER in your December issue, Mr Hammond is concerned about establishing a sound basis for a profession because of the wide diversity of responsibilities and qualifications (or lack of them) of existing training officers. This itself is one of the fundamental reasons for creating a profession so that, no matter in what category the training officer is actually employed, he is competent in the art of training in the broadest sense.
