TY - JOUR AB - We have all seen the type of electronics laboratory where there is one socket outlet per bench, where the measurements room is bang next to the machine shop and the electrical installation workshop is fifty yards away from the stores. Some mistakes are bound to happen in developing a laboratory. One can only avoid them by playing safe and following well‐trodden paths of unimaginative conformity — though to do so would be the worst mistake of all in a field where new ideas are constantly in the air. Unfortunately, many errors are simply due to insufficient foresight, poor planning, or lack of good advice.
