We can browse in our favourite bookshop and cast an eye over the educational publications in stock and find a host of titles which suggest that infancy and early childhood receive a fair amount of attention from the psychologists. In a very short time we can acquaint ourselves with the development of children from ‘cod liver oil to reduced fare bus passes’ and cover the field fairly comprehensively.
