Abstract

One area in which differences are to be found between Britain and the other member EEC states is in respect of social security systems and benefits. Such differences may continue to exist as there is an absence of specific Community directions concerning the need for complete harmonisation in this field of social security. Nevertheless, there has been considerable movement towards a redressing of the differences despite the absence of formal requirement.
