Abstract

The paper reports the results of a study to determine the effect of the delays involved in obtaining interlibrary loans and photocopies on the work of users of a medical library. Few users are inconvenienced and the length of delay or value of the paper appears to have little bearing on what inconvenience is caused. The results are compared with a similar study carried out in industrial libraries and suggest that there is a greater chance of any delays causing inconvenience among medical workers.
