TY - JOUR AB - This paper estimates the Effective Rate of Protection (E.R.P.) for Costa Rica, the first time such an estimate has been provided for any Central American Republic. It also employs a new method for calculating each E.R.P. which, it is argued, offers at least a partial solution to the problem of tariff redundancy.
