Abstract

The successful building, from a facilities management point of view, should offer user‐satisfaction and trouble‐free maintenance. The rareness of this state of affairs owes a great deal to the premature failure or poor performance of new and innovative products whose manufacturer has assured the specifier of the good quality of the product. New wonder flat roofing products that only last a year or two; raised access flooring which creaks and deflects; windows that leak; sound familiar?
