The Care of Building Exhibition

Abstract

Recent statistics on the condition of Britain's housing stock show a marked decline in housing conditions over the last two decades, despite an increase in home‐ownership from 29.5 per cent to 55.4 per cent since 1950. The English House Condition Survey and its equivalent for Greater London paint a depressing picture of the problem.
