AB  - The implementation of a statistical process control (SPC) procedure in the setting up of a crime‐control monitoring system is considered. The SPC system can be viewed as a computer‐aided alarm to trigger corrective action related to crime control. Both implementation procedures and barriers to implemen‐tation are addressed. Four effective strategies are also discussed.
