Abstract

Optimal Control theory is concerned with the problem of how to govern systems. Its purpose is to determine the best actions by which a given system can reach or maintain a particular state, these control actions being submitted to particular conditions called “constraints”. Mathematical formulations of such a problem may be very general, and then, the analysis and the results of this mathematical problem may be applied to numerous and varied concrete situations, from industrial processes to biology and medicine.
