Abstract

INVESTING in the automation of a product still in its infancy is a risky business, especially when there is a rival product of a different type that is being promoted by many competitors. But this is what Oki Electric has been doing in a new plant dedicated to the production of gas plasma displays, now being used increasingly in the more expensive portable computers.
