Reflex puts its software capabilities to the test

Abstract

One of the most interesting demonstrations at the CIMAP networking event sponsored by the UK Department of Trade and Industry at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, last December was an automatic assembly cell using a high‐speed robot and a machine vision system for parts selection and inspection. The cell was linked over the main local area network system to a design station, where visitors to the demonstration could select the assemblies which they wanted carried out.
