Abstract

The introduction of computer‐aided technologies into consumer electronics will result in sweeping changes. These changes will cover a wide range of functions, from the shop floor to management from development to marketing. Philips has looked at this problem and published a report using its Consumer Electronics (CEI) division as an example. This division is mainly a large batch industry but the findings are of interest to other industries.
