Seeking authors for a sequel to What Is a Disaster

Seeking authors for a sequel to What Is a Disaster?

In 1997 hazards researcher Henry Quarantelli (a frequent contributor to this journal) compiled and edited a dozen articles into the book, What Is a Disaster? Perspectives on the Question.

The authors represented six different social science disciplines as well as six different countries.

Professor Quarantelli is now planning to put together a more up-to-date volume, What Is a Disaster? More Perspectives, to be published in 2004, and he is seeking possible chapter authors.

Although he has enough contributors from Western countries, he is still looking for authors from non-Western societies and cultures.

Persons interested in possibly contributing to this proposed volume should contact Professor E.L. Quarantelli, Disaster Research Center, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19716, USA. Tel: (302) 831 6618; Fax: (302) 831 2091; E-mail: elqdrc@udel.edu
