IPC appoints new TAEC Chairman

IPC has announced that Doug Sober has been named the new Chairman of the Technical Activities Executive Committee (TAEC).

Sober, Vice President, quality assurance at GIL Technologies, Inc., was elected at IPC Printed Circuits Expo® 2002 in Long Beach, California, after the two-year tenure of outgoing TAEC Chairman Michael Hill, Dynamic Details, Inc., came to a close.

Sober has been extremely active in the committee leadership of IPC. He has chaired IPC's Base Materials committee and has led numerous subcommittees and tasks groups in the materials arena. In addition, Sober represents the United States in the international arena taking IPC's positions to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Sober, currently the U.S. Technical Advisor to IEC-TC-91; brings a wealth of materials related experience to the position having served roles at Polyclad, Isola, Fortin/Westinghouse and GIL Technologies.
