Figure 1 IPC bulletin board for October 1999

Sales billed (shipments) in October increased 5 percent over October 1998 and orders booked increased 5.2 percent over October 1998.

Compared to 1998, bookings of PWBs are up 5.4 percent year-to-date, while shipments of PWBs are up 6.6 percent year-to-date.

The ratio is calculated by averaging the number of orders booked over the past three months and dividing by the average sales billed during the same period.

The information is based on data provided by the 91 rigid and flexible PWB manufacturers participating in IPC's monthly Statistical Program. These companies represent over 40 percent of the US domestic printed wiring board market. IPC published the book-to-bill each month. (Statistics for the previous month are not available until the last week of the following month). For more information contact Dan Green at the IPC, +1 847 790 5371.
