Shipley has appointed Patrice Barthelmes as President, Shipley Europe. His brief is to complete integration of the recently acquired companies Lea Ronal and Morton into the Shipley brand, and to share technical expertise across the organisation.
Patrice Barthelmes joins Shipley from the food additives industry, where he was Senior Vice President in the Nature Products Division for SKW Group. Prior to that he worked for Sanofi Goup and for Air Liquide. His academic qualifications are in chemical and environmental engineering.
"Both the PCB and semiconductor packaging industries currently face an interesting challenge; namely how to compete in the high production cost countries of Europe", says Barthelmes. "The answer lies in higher productivity and innovation, and it is in these areas that Shipley is concentrating its expertise, as a partner to these two key industries. Our plan for the future is built around innovative R&D, a comprehensive product range and widespread local technical support for customers".
