Article Type: Reviews of effectiveness From: Clinical Governance: An International Journal, Volume 17, Issue 2

Baker, M.K., Simpson, K., Lloyd, B., Bauman, A.E., Singh, M.A.,Behavioral strategies in diabetes prevention programs: a systematic review of randomized controlled trials,Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice,2011,Vol. 91 No. 1,pp. 1-12

The review concluded that robust behavioural change strategies were an essential part of an effective lifestyle modification programme. The quality of the included evidence and potential differences across the trials limit the reliability of the estimates of effectiveness, but the authors’ conclusions are suitably equivocal and seem reasonable but broad.
