Editorial

It is with regret that I inform you of the decision by long-standing Editor, Charles Harmon, to scale down his involvement with the journal from now on. Charles has, therefore, become a member of the editorial board, and we have a new editor from Vol. 12 No. 3.

I am pleased to announce that James H. Walther, Lecturer, School of Library and Information Science, The Catholic University of America, is successor to Charles.

James divides his time between research, teaching and practice; and brings to the journal a wealth of new ideas on how to build on the work done by the previous editors over 12 years in establishing The Bottom Line as the only journal devoted entirely to the financial management of libraries and information services. I will leave James to share these with you in his inaugural editorial.

Until then, get the most out of your subscription by networking the online version around your organisation/system. Just as the journal's content has developed over the past 12 years, so too has publishing itself. The Bottom Line is now more than a printed journal; it is an information resource which you can exploit to the full by networking it to the desktops of your colleagues.

Try it! Don't keep The Bottom Line all to yourself!
