Pryor marking technology to launch range of marking products
Article Type: Equipment From: Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology: An International Journal, Volume 80, Issue 2.
Pryor Marking Technology, (Pryor) a prominent company in marking and vision solutions for traceability, had a range of new and upgraded products on show for the first time at EMO. The leading product was the newly enhanced Marktronic Multidot 3000 machine, a highly configurable, fully programmable dot-marking machine.
Mark Wadsworth, Business Development Manager at Pryor, said: “More and more organisations operate on a global scale, and require products and components to be marked for universal traceability. The international nature of EMO makes this the ideal launch pad for the latest additions to our extensive range of marking and vision systems.”
As a result of its robust modular construction the Marktronic Multidot 3000 is able to apply a high-quality 2D Data Matrix mark to the user's own specification. A range of additional options are available including a VeriSmart mark verification camera, twin heads for faster production line marking, and full software to support database connectivity. The entire system provides a fully integrated part marking and verification solution for a range of engineering and manufacturing applications.
The company also premiered the latest additions to its Marktronic SilentScribe range. Mark Wadsworth, Business Development Manager at Pryor, said: “Marking for traceability is part of many a manufacturing process, be it for highly engineered jet engine components, or recently milled steel. These models can cope with the variable materials, uneven surfaces and contours that are encountered in these environments.”
The Marktronic SilentScribe LS Models produce highly visible marks across a wide range of materials. Utilisation of a high-precision ball screw XY mechanism with a pneumatically operated diamond tipped stylus makes this ideally suited to marking smaller characters.
The Marktronic SilentScribe MS Models utilises a similar mechanism but the inclusion of a solid carbide tip produces a more robust, wider and deeper mark.
The Marktronic SilentScribe HS Models are best suited for the most demanding of industrial applications where a deep scribe mark is required.
The combination of high-power pneumatic assembly, high-speed, high- torque motors and a solid carbide tip, ensures a deep, fast and quiet mark is achievable on a wide range of materials. All machines in the range can be either column mounted or integrated into a larger manufacturing process.
