Pacelab Cabin for aircraft interior customisation
Pacelab Cabin for aircraft interior customisation

BAE Systems Regional Aircraft, a customer support, engineering and asset management company, has acquired the configuration software Pacelab Cabin of PACE Aerospace Engineering and Information Technology GmbH to optimise the customisation of its leasing fleet's interior layouts.
Airline managers dealing with aircraft leasing and purchasing decisions will naturally focus on the key issue of passenger comfort, which hinges immensely on the attractiveness of the cabin furnishings. Being capable of providing validated and customised cabin layout proposals at short notice is therefore an important prerequisite when it comes to securing aircraft leasing and sales contracts. For Regional Aircraft's asset management leasing organisation, Pacelab Cabin is said to have proved to be the vehicle to success, as the software tool streamlines the cabin configuration process significantly.
The aircraft lessor's Technical Sales Department currently uses PACE's knowledge based engineering (KBE) technology to provide customised layouts of principle arrangement (LOPA) to aid in the aircraft marketing process. Since Pacelab Cabin reportedly saves up to 90 per cent of planning effort, both flexibility of response and cost-effectiveness have taken a very favorable development. What's the major asset of Pacelab Cabin? The tool largely automates the positioning of cabin interior items, while consistently checking and assuring compliance with certification regulations and user-defined rules of arrangement.
At BAE-Systems Regional Aircraft, Pacelab Cabin is mainly used for laying out of the AvroRJ and BAe 146 jet cabins, though its capability has been proven for a wide range of aircraft types, ranging from business jets to multiple-deck commercial transports.
BAE Systems Regional Aircraft of Great Britain is responsible for customer support, engineering and asset management activities covering a worldwide base of 160 customers operating over 1,100 aircraft. In addition, Regional Aircraft manages a trading and leasing portfolio of some 350 aircraft, making it one of the world's largest regional aircraft lessors. PACE Aerospace Engineering and Information Technology (Berlin) develops knowledge based software products and solutions for aircraft cabin configuration, assessment of aircraft performance and airport master planning. PACE collaborates closely with customers such as Airbus, Aviation Partners, AVITAS, BAE Systems, DaimlerChrysler Research, debis AirFinance, EADS Sogerma, Embraer, Fraport, GECAS, Innovint, Recaro Aircraft Seating, Rolls Royce plc and Swiss International Airlines.
