FLS appointment

After working for 3 years in FLS Aerospace (USA) Inc., Sean O'Connor will now return to Europe and assume the position of general manager, sales reporting directly to John Hobbs, VP Sales and Marketing.

Sean's main focus will be on developing and growing FLSA's business with new and current customers. Initially, Sean will place a heavy emphasis on raising the awareness and increasing penetration of FLS Aerospace into mainland Europe. FLSA has built a strong customer base in Ireland and the UK and has a growing customer base in other areas of Europe, with room to develop business in this region and build on relationships with European airlines.

Having secured business with several American customers such as FedEx, Boeing, Air Canada, ILFC, Skyservice, CIT Group and AAR Leasing, Sean will also continue to grow FLSA's American MRO market share and will be supported by FLSA's USA Office in Dallas.

Sean will be supported by Sales personnel across all FLSA facilities in promoting FLSA's services – aircraft overhaul and modifications, component repair, component management, line and light maintenance and technical services. In his new role, Sean intends to be visible in the marketplace but he will maintain a base at FLSA's Dublin facility where he is relocating with his family.

Sean is eager to take on this new challenge and says "we have spent time restructuring our business and reducing complexity and we are very clear about our product offerings. We have demonstrated that we are leaders in providing quality MRO solutions and with a good strong core customer base and a clear direction, I am keen to actively develop our business and build on FLSA's reputation. All airlines in all segments of the marketplace are keenly watching costs and looking for greater value and service from their suppliers and maintenance is one of the areas where they are paying particular attention. I believe FLSA, as an independent MRO with a simplified, lean business structure and clear strategy is well positioned to provide this type of service. "

Sean's brief will also cover other markets such as Asia where FLSA has been gaining ground with our Component Management products. "For the immediate future, our plan is to continue to develop our Component business in these markets."

Sean who has been with FLS Aerospace since the acquisition of TEAM Aer Lingus 5 years ago has 25 year's previous aviation experience at TEAM Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus. His new role incorporates the responsibilities previously held by Jeff Forsbrey who is now moving on from FLS Aerospace.
