EPS Logistics Technology Limited, Sittingbourne, UK, designer and manufacturer of specialised, high-integrity, reusable containers, has been contracted by Raytheon Systems Limited for the design, development and production of the new Tornado RAPTOR Pod Storage and Shipping container.
The contract was won against strong competition from UK and foreign bidders and following detailed negotiations with Raytheon's Connecticut and Lexington, MA offices.
The container is required to handle a Reconnaissance Airborne Pod for Tornand (RAPTOR) in transport by land, air and sea, and long-term storage of up to five years, with a service life of 20 years.
