Saab AB and Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) recently announced that they are forming an IT strategic partnership. Saab will gain access to international expertise and greater opportunities for development in the expanding IT sector. The agreement will provide CSC with a significant additional presence in the Swedish market whilst at the same time offering Saab considerable savings and improved service in its total IT operation costs. The agreement will include the outsourcing of Saab Aerospace's IT infrastructure support operation and consequently the transfer of Saab's ownership of Combitech Network (CN) to CSC.
The partnership includes a long-term outsourcing contract under which CSC will manage Saab AB's IT operations in Sweden, using the assets, skills and knowledge acquired through its purchase of Combitech. The transaction will be conditional on relevant authorities' approval.
