Return to flight for Avro Vulcan

Keywords Marshall Aerospace

Marshall Aerospace informs us that it will be playing a major role in the return of Avro Vulcan XH558 (G-VLCN) aircraft to an airworthy condition.

Barry Holloway, Project Manager at Marshall Aerospace, agreed in conjunction with the Vulcan Operating Company (VOC) and BAe Systems the following statement:

As a result of the Pre A8-20 technical survey of Vulcan XH558 (G-VLCN), it is the recommendation of the participants that it is appropriate for the project to continue with confidence. The technical issues that have been so far identified have practicable solutions available.

Marshall Aerospace is delighted to be involved in this project and looks forward to working with the VOC and BAe Systems. The team will work closely together, with the objective of providing Marshall Aerospace with information to present to the UK CAA, recommending that the aircraft is awarded a permit to fly.

This multi-disciplinary project is entirely within the Marshall Aerospace capability, specifically suited to its experience in military systems.

The project will call on the extensive range of engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, test and certification skills offered by Marshall Aerospace.
