TKW Aeronautical Systems (Lucas Aerospace) (NYSE: TKW) has named Dr Graham Thornton as Vice President of Business Development.

Graham joined the company with the primary responsibility of further developing the company's position in international markets. Graham replaces David Bundred who left the company at the end of last year to pursue other challenges and opportunities. Ken Maciver, Executive Vice President and General Manager, said:

TRW Aeronautical Systems has very ambitious goals and we are delighted to have someone of Graham Thornton's stature to help us achieve them. He will be a valuable asset to this organization.

Graham comes to TRW from Smiths Industries where most recently he was Group Director, Marketing and Business Development for Smiths Industries Aerospace. Over the past 11 years, he has held several senior level positions at Smiths Industries Aerospace including Group Director, Strategy and Business Development and Managing Director of Dowty & Smiths Industries Controls Ltd at Cheltenham (England). Prior to joining Smiths Industries, he was Group Director of Dowty Defence & Air Systems Ltd. Earlier in his 33-year career he ran his own company, Echotronics Ltd, and held key management positions at a number of high-technology organizations.
