British Mediterranean Airways (BMed) announce that Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited (MAEL) has been awarded the contract for Base Maintenance.

The contract between BMed and MAEL has been agreed initially for a period of four years and covers the current fleet of three airbus A320-200 aircraft as well as any additions to the fleet. MAEL was formed in 1967, and over the years MAEL has built up a world-class reputation, with particular importance placed on the high standards of dependability and punctuality. With a strong workforce of over 700, MAEL is in a position to accommodate any problems or requirements that arise.

Stuart Green, the Engineering Manager, said:

BMed's first concern is safety to the customer and staff; therefore we needed a company that we trusted 100 per cent to maintain our fleet. After experiencing the first-rate service MAEL demonstrated on the last two structural checks, we were keen to cement the relationship between BMed and MAEL to ensure that our fleet is maintained to the highest of standards.
