Spanish airline Spanair announced recently that it had selected Messier-Bugatti from an international field of competitors to supply Sepcarb III carbon brakes and wheels for 25 Airbus A319 and A320 twinjets. Spanair also opted for Messier-BFGoodrich brakes for eight A321s, along with another 12 aircraft on option, for a total of 45 aircraft.

Spanair is the 50th airline to choose Messier-Bugatti's Sepcarb III A319/A320 carbon brakes. Introduced in 1996, these brakes are still one of the most economical brakes on the market for this aircraft.

This "charge per landing" type contract will be billed in euros - the first time that Messier-Bugatti has signed a contract of this size denominated in the new European currency (which is increasingly requested by customers).

More than 1,200 Airbus and Boeing jetliners equipped with Messier-Bugatti carbon brakes are now in service, further consolidating the company's worldwide leadership.
