Airbus Industrie also welcomed Dietrich Russell, who succeeded Volker von Tein as chief operating officer. Dr Russell joined Airbus Industrie from Daimler-Benz Aerospace where he was a member of the management board responsible for the aircraft group, and a member of the Airbus Industrie Executive Committee.
Another high-level management appointment included Manfred Bischoff's succession as chairman of the supervisory board. Mr Bischoff is chairman of the management board of Daimler-Benz Aerospace and a member of the Daimler-Benz management board.
