Trent engine overhaul
Rolls-Royce has signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore Airlines's subsidiary Singapore Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC) and Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited (HAESL) which aims to form a new venture to undertake Trent engine overhaul and maintenance in Asia-Pacific.
The MoU was signed in Singapore by Singapore Airlines deputy chairman and CEO Dr Cheong Choong Kong, who is also chairman of SIA Engineering Company, and Rolls-Royce chief executive John Rose. It will be owned 50 per cent by SIAEC, 30 per cent by Rolls-Royce and 20 per cent by HAESL.
