3 million investment programme

£3 million investment programme

John Huddleston Engineering is investing £3 million over the next three years to develop the most sophisticated precision engineering operation in Ireland for aerospace sub-contract work, creating up to 40 new jobs.

Based at Greyabbey, County Down, Northern Ireland, the company is a successful family-owned partnership business managed by the Huddleston brothers, Robert and John, and currently employs a workforce of 50. Established in 1964, it manufactures complex, high-precision machined components for blue-chip customers in various high-tech industries. The company holds supply approvals from British Aerospace, Bombardier-Shorts, GKN Westland Industrial Products, Shorts Missile Systems Ltd and the UK Ministry of Defence.

The expansion plan, backed by LEDU, Northern Ireland's small business agency, will focus on investments in people, plant and systems and includes the construction of a new factory and office complex, more than doubling the present 25,000 sq ft production unit at Greyabbey.
