Aeroplex of Central Europe (ACE) has installed blocks of B-RNAV system onto MALEV TU-154 aircraft after this job has been completed on the B737-200 fleet of the Hungarian flag-carrier.
The dramatically increasing European air traffic enforces operators to invest in advanced, more effective automatic navigation systems.
JAA regulations require a track keeping accuracy of the navigation performance of aircraft equal to or better than ± 5NM for 95 per cent of the flight time. B-RNAV (Basic Regional Navigation) supported by a proper Flight Management System (FMS) can answer this rigorous demand, and JAA made its operation obligatory within the European airspace from 23 April 1998.
This system is installed on advanced aircraft types (B737-300 and up, B767, Fokker 70) so the task is to assemble it on earlier ones only.
