Article Type: Industrial news From: Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, Volume 58, Issue 3
Hardide Coatings, the advanced metal surface coatings company, is strengthening its US presence with the appointment of Bob Gibson as Houston-based business development representative focusing on the oil and gas drilling and completions market.
Bob Gibson brings 30 years of experience of oil and gas production and drilling equipment product sales in the UK, Middle East and the USA. He spent more than 20 years in international management positions with Willis Oil Tool (previously a division of Smith International) and more recently Cameron, the leading provider of flow equipment products and services to oil, gas and process industries worldwide.
Mr Gibson will focus on building new sales for Hardide’s range of tungsten carbide-based coatings within the North American oil and gas sector.
Graham Hine, Chief Executive Officer of Hardide plc said: “The US is an important growth market for Hardide and we are now in a position to appoint an experienced representative to help us build sales in the region. Bob is well-connected and experienced in our market and I look forward to his contribution to delivering our sales strategy.”
Hardide Coatings has developed a range of tungsten carbide-based precision coatings which offer an unprecedented combination of ultra-hardness, toughness, low friction and chemical resistance when applied to components made from ferrous- and nickel-based alloys. They can coat internal surfaces and complex shapes and offer significant technical and environmental advantages over traditional technologies such as hard chrome and HVOF.
The coating is in use by customers around the world in severe service applications in industries including oil and gas downhole and drilling tools, aerospace, valves, power generation, chemicals and food manufacturing.
