New Viton® industrial sprayers from Hozelock

Article Type: New materials and equipment From: Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, Volume 55, Issue 4

With long-lasting chemical resistant seals, the new Hozelock Viton® range of industrial pressure sprayers are designed for heavy duty applications of acid-, alkaline- or solvent-based solutions across a broad spectrum of trades (Figure 1).

Ideally suited to a diverse range of spraying applications such as degreasing, solvent treatments, surface coating, disinfectant spraying, timber preservation and agricultural tasks in numerous industries, the new Hozelock Viton® sprayers come in 1.25, 5, 7 and 10 l sizes. Each model offers the user a precise spray pattern which is adjustable from a jet, for spot treatment, to cone and mist patterns for wider area coverage.

The sprayer seals and “O” rings are made from Du Pont Viton® fluoroelastomer which is highly resistant to repeated exposure to aggressive chemical solutions which would quickly corrode conventional rubber seals. The pump barrel sealing rings, non-return valve and the nozzle seal thus remain airtight, ensuring long life and efficient operation.

Non-corrosive stainless steel lances give the three large Viton® sprayers extra reach and durability and all models have an extra-wide tun dish to facilitate easy filling without spillage. The translucent canisters are graduated to enable spray solutions to be mixed accurately in the sprayer.

Designed for use over long periods, the Viton® sprayers incorporate a number of ergonomic features to ensure optimum operator comfort including a large pump handle, trigger and spray controls. The trigger includes a thumb operated lock-on facility for continuous spraying without fatigue.

Once filled, the sprayers can be quickly primed using the pump handle and a pressure relief valve will automatically activate when the optimum operating pressure of 45 psi (3 bar) has been reached. Thereafter, a few pumps at infrequent intervals are all that is needed to keep spraying.

The 5, 7 and 10 l models come with an adjustable carry strap for comfortable backpack use when required. And all four of the new Viton® pressure sprayers carry an extended 2-year guarantee.
