One of Akzo Nobel's chemicals plants in China has been presented with an environmental award by the local authority.
The company's Polymer Chemicals Cross Linking Peroxide site in Ningbo has received the Ningbo Model Environmental Plant honor from the municipal government in recognition of its HSE performance.
The site, which was taken over by Akzo Nobel in 2000, was assessed in the areas of organization, management, equipment, environmental control and performance, cleaner production, overall view and public recognition.
The honour is a reward for the plant's concerted efforts to improve its HSE performance since Akzo Nobel took over 4 years ago.
