Bronze and plastic versions have been added to the Spyraflo range of self-clinching, self-aligning bearings for light to medium duty applications.
Bronze and plastic versions have been added to the Spyraflo range of self-clinching, self-aligning bearings available from Unimatic engineers, for light to medium duty applications.
The standard bronze bearings are oil impregnated and designed for horizontal applications with moderate speed and load requirements.
A second version, using a solid carbon lubricant is available for applications involving axial movement.
Both are suitable for use in clean environments such as computer drives and office equipment, and can also be used in more industrial situations such as with conveyors and electric motors.
They are available in diameters in the range 4-20 mm.
Spyraflo's plastic bearings, being self-lubricating as well as self-aligning, are maintenance free and therefore, attractive for use in situations where there is rarely an engineer to handle, such as in desktop printers, gaming machines, vending machines and ticket printers.
They are also corrosion-free, a characteristic that opens up fields of application such as stadium seating, play equipment, rotating signage and other outdoor applications.
The size range for the plastic bearings is 2-15 mm diameter.
Like all Spyraflo bearings, these two ranges supplied are mounted in retainer housings that provide the precision location required for all bearings.
However, mounting need not be particularly precise as all the housings are designed to self align by up to 5° and 1 mm, which reduces the time, cost and skill required to fit Spyraflo bearings compared to traditional designs.
