Finishing & Plating Services Inc., of Wisconsin, USA is an old friend of PAL's. The chloride zinc electroplating specialists, who plate parts for the appliance and automotive industries, bought their first four PAL machines in 1991, since then they have had two more, with the last and largest being ordered in 1998.

“As we said at the time of ordering our sixth machine – a more sophisticated machine than our earlier ones and designed to handle much bigger parts – we have a very good relationship with PAL,” explains Finishing & Plating Vice President, Bruce Laken. “Our roll call of PAL machines is impressive – we had three return type rack zinc machines, a barrel line for zinc, tin and zinc phosphate and a barrel zinc automatic line with three transporters before ordering our splendid 112 ft rack acid zinc line with its three gate-type transporters.”

“We were delighted by the hard work of the British team installing the last machine; they worked tirelessly and meticulously ensuring our new line was up and running smoothly just before Christmas 1998. We ran some small production runs just before that Christmas and then early in the New Year were in full production. It is the smoothest, quietest most efficient automatic I have ever seen! It enables us to offer our customers truly large piece capacity – indeed we advertise our ability to plate items 123 in. long, 58 in. deep, 15 in. wide and 1,000lbs in weight!”

Finishing & Plating Services has just celebrated their 50th anniversary – the recent construction of their $5 million facility addition underscores their commitment to their customers for whom the 40-strong team works in three shifts, 24 h a day, 5 days a week. “Our customers, employees and the environment are all key,” says Bruce Laken. “We pride ourselves on our state-of-the-art facility with its six automated plating lines; our ability to offer an extremely wide range of metal finishing services and options; our stringent metal finishing standards; and our custom-designed waste treatment facility that exceeds all local, state and federal requirements.”
